JSP - FilterSpec Pro Black Eye & Respiratory Protection - JSP-AGE130-201-100 -P3 Filter

FilterSpec offers both Eye & Respiratory Protection in one lightweight & comfortable product.  The one piece goggles have an anti-mist and anti-scratch coating. The system uses one filter, which is typically good for 8 hours protection or more depending on the severity of the hazard, and 3 are provided.

Filterspec comes with 3 FMP3 VALVED Filters with a 98% efficiency classification against dust.  Additional filters are available to purchase separately.

The P3 dust protection 98% factor is designed for multi dust applications. The spectacles are impact resistant. The soft mask moulds itself to the shape of the face and offers an effective seal. The filters are disposable and easily replaced. The low resistance valve reduces moisture, heat and CO2 build up, and facilitates easy breathing. P2 protects against fine dusts, fibres, aqueous mists, oil based mists, brick dust, concrete, fubre glass, MDF hand tools, mineral fibres, plaster, Rockwool, Sandstone and soft wood.

Each filter is good for 8 hours or more continuous filtration, or until breathing resistance increases or there is a perceptible increase or awareness of smell / taste of the hazard.

Additional filters are available to purchase separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

01.What type of Mask is best for Coronavirus?

A filtering facepiece classified as FFP3 is the most effective against coronavirus. Crafted from synthetic fibre, a well-fitted FFP3 mask has the potential to protect against inward leakage and capture very fine toxic particles. It also includes an exhalation valve that releases air, to prevent heat and moisture build-up. The mask combined with social distancing and frequent hand washing can offer optimal protection against potential virus transmission.

02.When to Use a Surgical face Mask or FFP3 respirators?

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), a surgical face mask must be used if you are continuously coughing or sneezing. Also, FFP3 respirators are required when conducting infectious aerosol-generating procedures or taking care of a patient with confirmed or suspected coronavirus. Meanwhile, a face-covering is recommended when stepping out on an errand at places where it’s difficult to maintain physical distancing.

03.How long can an FFP3 Mask be worn for?

The maximum duration of the FFP3 mask may vary as per design specifications and manufacturer guidelines. The recommended wear time for protective gear at a stretch is one hour (60 minutes) or a little longer provided it is in optimal working condition. If the FFP3 respirator is a poor fit, damaged, has become tainted or is causing discomfort and breathing problems, it should be removed and discarded safely in waste bins.

04.Why do the FFP3 masks have a different expiry date?

The FFP3 mask used for protection against hazardous viruses has a limited shelf life. The components of a product that has been in prolonged storage are likely to degrade which can impact its quality and level of performance. The expiration date is printed on the side or bottom of the packaging. An expired mask should not be used as it doesn’t meet the stringent criterion set by the health regulators.

05.What can I do if we are unable to meet the demand for Fit?

A fit test of FFP3 respirators is vital to ensure health caregivers get complete protection against penetration of contaminated air in high-risk areas. Given the rapid progression of the Covid-19 outbreak, fit checking of respirators by trained personnel may not be possible always. To counter the challenge, the Public Health England (PHE) agency has enlisted the help of RPA to facilitate an online fit-test training programme that complies with respiratory protection standards. You can call RPA’s helpline on 07947 968972 and 07947 968922 to register for the course.
