05: What protection is needed for Biological hazards?
The protective suits will be Cat III & will also include either the suffix (B) to signify EN 14126 biological protection or will have the EN 14126 safety symbol for protection against hazardous microorganisms.
Type 5 Safety Standard: ENISO 13982-1:2004+A1:2010 -Airborne Particles
Type 6 Safety Standard: EN 13034:2005+A1:2009 – Liquid Splash Protection
Suffix (B) EN 14126 – Micro-organism protection
EN 14126 -Protection against Microorganisms
Safety Standard: EN 1073-2 – nuclear material sized particles
If full liquid protection is required such as Ebola, an increase in protection to include Type 3 & Type 4 may be required.
